Free half-day workshop Reminiscing helps us make connections with a person – their past, present and future – and life stories can help unlock the “voice” of a person with dementia. This workshop provides participants with the knowledge and skills to engage in reminiscing and create a life story with a relative, friend or person with dementia.
Participants in this workshop will have an opportunity to: · Learn strategies to encourage and support reminiscing and discover the rich and complex patterns of people’s lives; · I dentify key points for creating a life story; and · Learn how to use life stories as communication tools.
This workshop is intended for: Anyone providing support or care for a person with dementia, and families or friends of people with dementia. Note - this workshop is not suitable for aged care professionals. To view a similar course that is on offer, click here.
Duration: 3 hour interactive workshop.
Cost: FREE. Note: participants will need to bring some small items of personal meaning e.g. baby or wedding photos, objects with personal significance etc. To register online, click here.
