Assistive technology and equipment allows people with dementia to maximise their independence and minimise the care they require. This workshop explores the use of available equipment and technologies in dementia care environments.
Participants in this workshop will gain an understanding of: ·Types of equipment and technologies available that can improve independence and quality of life for someone with dementia; and ·How assistive technology is being used in care environments in Australia and internationally to improve well-being for people with dementia.
Who should attend this workshop? Anyone working in aged, community or health care and involved in planning or providing care for people with dementia.
Dates, times and locations for 2010: This workshop is offered at our Shenton Park (9 Bedbrook Place, Shenton Park) training venue on: Friday 9 April 1pm – 4.30pm (for residential care staff) Friday 15 October 1pm – 4.30pm (for community care staff)
