Home RespiteWhat is Home Respite? Home respite involves a care worker visiting an individual's home to provide care and support. The care worker also creates opportunities for the individual to participate in meaningful activities in their home environment and in the local community. To receive this service, the person with dementia needs to have the support of a primary carer. When is Home Respite Available? Home Respite takes into consideration the needs of the family and the person with dementia and is available anytime, including evening and weekends. Primary carers usually receive a regular weekly service, with a six-hour visit or two three-hour visits as arranged with the Respite Services Coordinator by contacting us. Some Families only require an occasional service.
